A Modest Proposal by: Jonathan Swift

In the story A Modest Proposal, the author propose a solution to end up poverty in Ireland. He propose to sell babies, the smaller and fatter they are the more money their parents can receive. He is criticizing the government for not doing anything to help the poor. He sees children with scarce clothes in the streets asking for money because they don't have anything to eat. So if the government don't care about the situation that people are living with, is better to kill them. The children could be beneficial to the society because they mean food and with their skins they could make shoes and even purses. I really like the way he shows his freedom of speech. Authors like him who write and criticize bad things deserve to be respected.
